Title:Smoke on the Horizon
Article Abstract:It was in the Victorian age that steam engines were refined to the point where a ship could go to sea without sails, relying solely on its engines. The first steamship to visit New Zealand was a warship, HMS DRIVER. In 1847 Auckland saw its third steamer, this time a commercial vessel, the JUNO.
