Abstract: An extract from these authors' book The Logans. Gives an account of the two sons sailing/racing successes between 1920 and 1940 in a number of different classes. The L class RAKOA, bought in 1928, was succesful in harbour races and then in 1930 they entered the Auckland-Tauranga race and inspite of unconventional navigation won their class. 1933 to 1939 the brothers activities are not known but they come to prominence again with the building of the 18ft V class MATARA in the winter of 1939.
