Title: [Illustrations of vessels in Dusky Sound in the 1790's]
Author: Jackson, Gainor W
Abstract: In a book containing colour illustrations of 19th century immigrant vessels to New Zealand, based on paintings by the author, are two from an era earlier than the book's main theme. These col views re-create the building in 1792 of a schooner by a group of sealers based in Dusky Sound, and the wreck of the East Indiaman ENDEAVOUR there in 1795, with the brig FANCY from Sydney, and the now-completed schooner [PROVIDENCE] anchored nearby. A third col illustration shows a typical whaling scene of the mid 19th century.
