Abstract: Original source: NZ Herald 19 Feb 1925. Describes further instalment of an inquiry into an explosion and fire that occurred on the scow KAIAIA after she had loaded 1250 cases of motor fuel at an Auckland wharf. Crew member Charles Singer lit a lamp that set off the blast. More evidence given about the safety and design issues involved, by the following persons: James Scott Maclaurin, Roy Maltby Butcher, George T Niccol, Ernest H Bailey, & Captain C C Plunket.
